What is polystyrene insulation?

A key use of polystyrene includes insulated panel systems for floors, walls and roofs in residential and commercial buildings. This is due to its lightweight yet strong, and insulation properties. Polystyrene insulation provides a cost-effective, high-performance solution for the building and construction industry.

Conn's is an American furniture shop, based in Texas, USA, that includes mattresses, appliances and a number of other household appliances. It also has shops in Greater Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Greater San Antonio, Greater El Paso, Greater Corpus Christi, Southeast Texas and South Texas.

Previously, EPS generated at Conn's seven large distribution centres was simply thrown away. However, as the business grew, the company began to consider the growing volume of waste, the increasing cost of disposal, and the fact that recycling its own used EPS had become a new trend among its peers. After much deliberation, Conn's decided to find a more efficient solution for EPS disposal. They commissioned a local machine rental company to find them a suitable recycling machine.

The company visited other furniture shops to see the GREENMAX EPS recycling machine in action, and after comparing it with other brands, they finally chose GREENMAX.

Conn's later purchased three GREENMAX EPS densifiers for installation in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. These locations have a relatively large number of disused EPSs compared to other distribution centres. Since then Conn's has been recycling its own EPS waste and selling EPS blocks from machines to INTCO for use in the manufacture of framed products for a new lease of life.

It is worth noting that GREENMAX sends its engineers to the site to instruct machine operators on the effective operation of the recycling machines and to train staff on machine maintenance. GREENMAX also provides regular visits to sold out machines in the future, which is something the company is very happy with and will continue to do with GREENMAX.
